I've kept the samples that were collected a week or so ago (in the Mt. Shuksan/Mt.Baker area here in Washington) in a cool room with indirect window light. I have been able to photograph quite a few species the past week as different subjects came and went.

For some reason I think the Lembadion is one of the "prettier" ciliates. This one was really feeding quite rapidly, and I felt like I was quite lucky to get a few shots in focus.

40/0.95 Olympus S Plan Apo. Canon 350D. DIC with electronic flash.

BTW... I worked on some more scenic shots of the area where I collected these samples. Great spot. If you are ever out this way in late September, early October, it's worth a visit. You can see the shots here:
