Daffodil Blues

Post by Ken Ramos »

Everyone along my rurual county road has beautiful Daffodils blooming in their front yards and along the road in front of their homes. Bright yellow and white trumpets, hearlding the coming of spring! Alas but for me, mine look as though they are passing a kidney stone. :(

If you look closely, you will see that "Ben" the jumping spider is on top of one of those petals. :wink: As for the color, well it's just one of those days. :lol:

Thanks Dave :D

Hey Ken, looking at your photo I remembered my high school studies!!!!

"Daffodils" (1804)

I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

By William Wordsworth

Very nice Photo! :D
Bye!
Marco.

Been a long time since I have read any poetry. Many years ago, to many as a matter of fact, I quite enjoyed poetry and English Literature while in high school. That may sound strange, coming from one so caloused as I but true. :wink:

Thanks Marco :D

Without the colour it somehow reminds me of the Little Shop of Horrors! Interesting take on a familiar subject! :)
