Zerene (Linux) on ARM processor...

Post by Yawns »

Just to confirm my suspicions ... before pulling out hair trying ...

Since Zerene (Linux version) was designed to work on Intel processors .. I suppose it is useless to try to make it work on a Raspberry PI 4B ... with ARM processor ...
I'm right ... am I not?

Thanks,
António

I have never tried to do this, but it's not totally outside the realm of possibilities.

On Linux, I think that everything in the Zerene Stacker distribution is compiled Java (.jar files) except for the JRE, the standard launch program, the external TIFF reader, the StackShot helper program. and the EXIF propagator.

If you can obtain a JRE that's compatible with your system, then you might try replacing the JRE in the standard distribution and launching with the shell script ZereneStacker.bsh .

I have not much hope this would actually work, but I have seen a few stranger things in my life.
