Overstacking
Now that I am actually using an automated stacking rail (WeMacro), its tempting to make the step size smaller than it should be. We all know the issues of too large a step size, which leads to banding of unfocused areas. Is there a down side to making step sizes much too small (i.e. 40 micron should be fine based on mag and aperture, but use 5 micron instead)? Yes, this results in much longer computation time (and longer sitting in the dark contemplating the universe while waiting for the stack to finish).
