Melting Chemicals

Post by Harald »

Hi you good people,
What is the best way to melt chemicals?
Bunsen burner or heat plate?

Anyone got some good idea, it's for making crystals.

Tried bunsen burner, but it seems sometime that the chemicals get burned

Hope for some good suggestions
Kind Regards
Harald

Harald,
What is the end use? Mixing or making melt slides?

Melt slides

I used to use a lab alcohol lamp with a wick, but it rusted up.
I now use an alcohol burner that is used under metal pans on a buffet line. A name brand is STERNO but I use somehting from a Dollar Store.
