Eclipse style Epifluorescence filter diameters

Post by ldflan »

Does anyone happen to know the diameters and/or thread pitch for the excitation and emitter filters on the Eclipse style Nikon cubes? Will the E-4 type filters fit the older Diaphot cubes? (I expect not, but thought I would check). Thanks! Leonard

AFAIK the filters themselves are 25mm diameter, no idea about the mounting parts.

If you ask it to Chroma tech service they will be able to tell you as they make filters and cubes for all those models.

Hi,

Just looked on my Epi head for the Eclipse 90i and see the following confirming 25mm.

Thanks, Pau. I bought a Diaphot type UV-2A cube off eBay from a fellow who posts here - it had a chipped barrier filter. Replaced the barrier filter with the UV-2B type barrier filter from Chroma (mirror and excitation filter are the same in these two cubes) - works like a charm, much nicer background than the UV-2A.
