Hi

Have a Leitz objective marked

Leitz Phaco 2 NPL Fluotar 50 X / 1.00 Oel RK

Wonder about what RK stand for ?

Hello Pär... good to see you over here. Why not throw in a picture occasionally :wink:

My guess is that the objective you have was designated as one to be used for a method called Reflection Contrast Microscopy (RCM). In German it would be Reflexions-Kontrast, so perhaps that is where the "RK" comes from.

It was never that common, and required additional components on the microscope. If you Google "Reflection Contrast Microscopy, RCM" you will find a Leica-Microsystems link to a pdf that describes it in detail.

and this one fit better i think

Yes you might have a point on that i could
be Reflected Kontrast , but did not Leitz have
the ICR adatpers for that ?

Amd the ICT for transmited light (have a lot of them)

Do they have Special Designed Objectives to ?
(the one i have with RK marked)

Never see that in any paper from Leitz

Yes it was for Reflection Contrast as you mention
have looked in to the paper
