Hello,
Now I have generic 10x/0.20 infinite corrected plan acromatic (www.macroforum.org/fs/formica10x.jpg).
I'm looking for better 10x on a budget: I found Olympus 10x/0.25 infinity - 0 and Nikon M Plan 10/0.25 finite 210-0
Any advice please?
Thanks,
Antonio
Good 10x objective: Nikon M Plan 10x/0.25 or Oly Plan 10x

Antonio,
I have no knowledge about the Olympus objective, but the Nikon M Plan 10/0.25 finite 210/0 is a "known good" lens for macro work. For about twice the price, I see a nice-looking Nikon N Plan 10/0.30 160/0.17 listed on eBay; these are quite good, and to my mind worth the extra money. Avoid the ones marked "phase" or "PH1".
You are aware that these finite objectives need to be mounted on a bellows or empty tubes, right?
If you want to stick with infinite objectives, there are current-production Nikon 10x CFI objectives of several models that are "known good." I've not used these, but other forum members can advise on them.

Re: Good 10x objective: Nikon M Plan 10x/0.25 or Oly Plan 10
Which model?anto74 wrote:I found Olympus 10x/0.25 infinity - 0
Older metallographic Olympus objectives do need compensating eyepieces to correct CA while newer UIS and UIS2 models do not and they are designed for wide field microscopes so they seem much more convenient. Anyway the Nikon route seems safer.

i found Olympus MS Plan 10x/0.30 infinity corrected and this 10x/0.25 https://www.ebay.it/itm/MICROSCOPE-OBJE ... 3825834394
Maybe i can use the MS Plan without eyepiece?
Thanks

Thanks and sorry for my english very limited...but i ask you: the MS Plan 10/0.30 is good objective and i can use this without eyepiece? ( this MS Plan on ebay USA). Or maybe is better buy this UIS 10x/0.25 in Italy?Pau wrote:Being a UIS type, the linked objective seems OK, although I don't have direct references
- It seems a biological objective, not a MS although this is not important for 0.30 NA but the working distance could be shorter.
Thanks
Antonio
Thanks for info
On Ebay Italy very limited offers...all in USA
