Softly, Softly,

Post by Harold Gough »

I read somwhere that only 3,000 copies of this lens were made. I don't know it it's true but I have two of them:

The softness only works at the wider apertures so these were shot at f2.8. I have'nt done anything other than resize the images. A tripod was used and the focus left unchanged, only the softness increased from the second to the fourth. I used a paeony, which is quite a soft, feminine flower anyway in my opinion.

No soft effect:

You can use intermediate settings as there are no click stops.

This is the first time I have used the lens for other than baby pictures.

EP-2, Tamrom SP 70-150 f2.8 with soft focus, f2.8 1/500 ISO 100, tripod, in-camera sharpening switched on. There was a slight, gusting breeze, which has caused some repositioning of background foliage between shots, although care was taken to minimise such effects with the actual flower.
