Hello,
Searching through the forums I didn't find too many words about Thorlabs linear stages. Are they comparable to the popular Newport ones?
I'm interested in PT1 model - Model page, since the price I pay for a new stage is not too far from a Newport stage in good condition bought from eBay. Is it overkill using it for 5-6x magnifications?
Thank you.

Re: Thorlabs linear stages
No, not overkill. In the 5-6X range, you will be down to using just a couple of the 0.001" tick marks per step. See further discussion HERE and following in the same thread.crisarg wrote:Thorlabs linear stages ... I'm interested in PT1 model ... Is it overkill using it for 5-6x magnifications?
