I'd call it a katydid, but I don't have a clue as far as actual ID goes. Pleasing shot of it, whatever it is!

Could be one of these Ken: http://bugguide.net/node/view/39554/bgimage Did not expect it to be a female (must be a male hangup) :D . Very nice shot :smt038
Also take a look at this. I spotted this while looking for your Katydid. I would like to see one of these. http://bugguide.net/node/view/32355/bgimage

The "sword" is an ovipositor (tube for shoving eggs into the ground), not what your mammalian heritage might lead you to suspect.

Hey thanks Doug. You must either have a lot of patience or a lot of time on your hands. I go to BugGuide sometimes but they have too many repetative images of the same insect it seems and the pages go on and on, which to me gets very tiresome and I get tired of looking for things but BugGuide is nice to have around. :D

So what I have here is a Meadow Katydid, I guess I will have to change the header. Hey thanks again Doug. :D

Wonder if that pink one is...well...you know, one of those...oh forget it. :smt044
