Pine resin...

Post by crocoite »

Getting away from the butterfly theme...

An old pine tree behind our hous lost a large limb many years back. The damage was significant and the resin continues to ooze out of the tree. This image of resin and cobweb is about 4 cm across...

I have a few pines in my backyard which are doing the same thing. One profusely. There are large gobs of resin everywhere beneath that one particular tree. It has had no limbs broken off and the source is not even near a limb, so I am figuring that there is an insect(s) causing the large amount of resin to be produced. :)

Been a long time since I seen something like this. Pine sap, I remember it could get really messy... and I would get a whooping
