Yellow Jacket, hypothermia

Post by Ken Ramos »

Yes, it was quite cold out last night, temps in the low to mid 30's. It is a bit dirty with scattered debris, I did not bother or think to clean the Yellow Jacket up at the time. As a matter of fact it was still just barely alive at the time I took the photos. :D

You would think that all that hair would create an imbalance in the aerodynamics of the Yellow Jacket  Your lucky it didn`t wakeup fully

He or it has been in the house for serveral hours now. I have it in a small white glass bowl with a clear round glass cover over the top, so I can keep and eye on it. So far it has not recovered much if any at all. Yes, you would think that all that hair has to create some sort of drag when in flight but they are so sparsely scattered about that it probably does not present much of a problem, seeing as how they can move really fast when you tick them off. Thanks Doug :D
