Spider stack

Post by lauriek »

I've no idea what sort of spider this is, any pointers appreciated! (I realise it's probably difficult from this style of shot!)

Image

Shot with E330, OM Auto Bellows at minimum extension, Nikon 10x CF PLAN objective, Oly STF-22 twinflash. Stack of 90 images aligned in CZP and stacked in two parts in Tufuse.

Four small eyes in a row in front, larger pair above with another large pair farther back, I'm thinking wolf spider, family Lycosidae.

See for example http://bugguide.net/node/view/227524/bgimage and http://bugguide.net/node/view/201429/bgimage.

Thanks Rik, the eye layout certainly looks similar... I'll have a google around!
