Yellow dung fly stack

Post by lauriek »

I think these flies are much prettier than their name might suggest!

Image

Shot with reversed OM50/1.8 @f5.6 on bellows (at fullish extension iirc.)

Full stack around 100 images, around 50 used for this image (It all starts to get a bit of a mess of hair if I get the body in focus as well!). Aligned in CZM, stacked in Tufuse..

Ideally this could do with a bit more work, a few sub-stacks for some of the facial hairs would be good, and a slightly deeper stack to pull in those hairs dissapearing at the top of the head - but it's almost there for web size at least!! :)

ETA: As pretty much all of my stacks are likely to be for now, this is a dead specimen...

I like contrast colors :smt023 imperfection powder makes vivid photography (transmit the presence of the photographer)

Laurie,

What great lighting! Especially notable on the eyes.

Great job.

An incredible photo laurie. Yes, great job on the lighting and I like the way the two tone background matches the eyes and face.
