More from here and there

I had come across some leaves that were neatly woven together to form an enclosed space. Inside was this nursery web spider (Pisaurina mira) with her egg sac. I put her into a secure place after pictures.

A common red-legged grasshopper (Melanoplus femurrubrum)

Digger bee (Anthophora sp.). There were swarms of these that had emerged from the ground in a park early last summer.

A gorgeous jumping spider found in the woods (Phidippus whitmani).

A Muscid fly - species unknown - on berry juice.

A nice set. I can almost visualise poking around, seeing what's there, and contentedly taking shots like this myself. The group together bring that sort of casual "macro trip" to mind.

What's the fly in the last pic chomping on? Is it "bait" or just some stuff that was already there?

Cheers

Thank you. It was a dripping of berry juice from a bush. I just found the fly this way, and was a bit surprised at how indifferent it was at my up-close intrusion with the Raynox 250 on my macro lens.
