If you want to see expensive,look for lens caps and rear caps for Leica cameras,probably the most over priced cameras ever!

By "checked" I meant that I metered it. It has to be the case that spreading the light will affect exposure. You have to stack lenses before it becomes significant i.e. half a stop or more.
