Cleaning specimens

Post by Pizzazz »

Howdy Gang

Thought I would share my new approach to clean up my specimens.
I picked up a used 3M service vacuum and put a Series 1 filter in it. The
Series 1 is good for .3 microns.

I then made an adapter that fits on the end of the hose and has at the
other end, two holes. One is for air flow to make sure the restriction does
not over tax the motor and the other hole is for a small tube that is used
to vacuum the specimen.

The beetle shot has only been level corrected and sized for the forum and
no other retouching has been done. Notice that it is pretty darn clean.

As you can see, the adapter basically reduces the main input and the
small hose is what I use to do the cleaning

Mike
