Wow, that is a stunning shot, beautifully lit! I have just purchased a Mitutoyo 10x and am amazed at the detail that I can see. I am curious about the lighting -- you say you used an LED ring light. Can you say which one, and also where do you have that light attached to your rig? If could could post photos of your rig with the ring light that would be great!

Thank you :)
Here is a picture of the setup. The LED ring has nice light, but unfortunately it gets very warm.
I've replaced it now.
And sorry for my late reply.

Thanks for the photos, Robert. I am curious, what did you replace the light with?

I have been using two IKEA gooseneck lights diffused with half pin-pong balls and that works great for me.

Beautiful shot Robert. I especially like the small beam of light coming from above on the left side. Was that intentional or just the way it worked out. I've tried getting similar results by drilling a small hole in a ping pong ball attached to my Jansco light, but without much success. Again, beautiful shot!

Many thanks Billy :)
Here the light comes from below and is reflected above. I am satisfied with this solution but the LED ring gets very warm so I will replace it.
