No offense, but these are surprisingly soft for such a low magnification. Something may be wrong with your set-up. What aperture are you using?

On my screen these seem fine. Maybe a tad focused just past the closest point on some of them.

Hmm...maybe it is just a matter of contrast. But to me the first picture, for example, looks unsharp except for a small sliver, but even that isn't really sharp.

While these are interesting subjects, I would suggest working on depth of field to yield more detail.

Thanks for your comments. These were taken a few years ago, and at the time I mostly focused on taking pleasant pictures and less on technical aspects. All are natural light and handheld. This is maybe why they are a bit soft.

I have better grasp of technical aspects these days and I am trying to get back into macro again.
