Found some fungus on a branch, what is this? Looks quite disgusting and alien. I would love to have an ID.

I agree in a general sense, the white scale-like objects are likely scale insects. I don't know whether the thin threads are fungus. Scale insects are known to secrete comparable thin threads, in addition to a more compact canopy covering the insect's body.

Some Aulacaspis species.

The bright white scales and the central ridge makes it look like some flavour of Aulacaspis. There are many possibilities, knowing what the host plant is can often help narrow it down. Vaguely something of the ilk....

My bad, yeah I should have given way more details.
It's found on the branches of a rose tree.

I have another shot waiting be uploaded. In that, one can see what looks like insect skins (forgive my non-technical jargon) along with these white fluffy things, making me think it's some kind of parasitic critters. I'll upload it after work.
