Is this a Common Housefly?

Post by NewForestTel »

Whilst I have been a member on these forums for a few years I have not made many posts - so here goes.
I thought this was a common house fly when I caught it and "stilled" it with ethyl acetate. However on taking the macro stack shots I can now see that it has white bands across its back, Can anyone identify please?

Many thanks for any help and comments good or bad - all will be appreciated.

The specimen is still in place so will try and post an image later this week.
Thanks for your reply

I would have a guess at a Flesh fly (Sarcophagidae)?

I think Picosvistas has the ID. But getting a more specific ID would be very difficult.
