Brochantite with Malachite on an unknown white mineral

Stacked at 6.75X
Conventional diffused lighting
FOV 2.7mm

Interestingly, the bluish white mineral appears to have formed casts or coating over some earlier tabular mineral..from the shape one might suspect Wulfenite.

GeoP - what is the locality. The bluish-white could be either chalcedony or allophane over wulfenite or barite, or something else.

Very nice well balanced image, by the way!

I had not considered Allophane..but the coating appears fibrous, though at the edge of resolution.

Unfortunately I don't know the locality. It is from a mostly unlabeled collection :(

Excellent image, could it be white botryoidal calcite?

It could be calcite..but currently I'm leaning toward Hemimorphite, as someone suggested on a different post.
