Ascomycetes are often very small. These cup fungi are apparently decomposers, and were photographed with a Nikon 810 and 5X or 10X objectives mounted on either a Raynox or an old Nikon 300mm f4.5.

My thanks to you all. Nanometer, decomposers like these live on the forest floor under trees and in rotting wood. The last 3 images show growth on a dead leaf. Twigs and leaves put into a petri dish with wet filter paper or paper towel lining the bottom may reveal fungal specimens in a few days, as well as slime molds.
