Hi D.d.K,
If you already have any lens like CANON EF 70-200L or CANON EF 100L macro you can use them as a tube-lens (but magn. is smaller at 100).
If you don’t have any photo-lens 200mm/100 then you should start with the Sigma LSA or Raynox DCR-150 as a tube lens, because they are very easy to mount.

BTW, if you used the photo-lenses with AF as a tube-lens it could be stacked by AF (similar to the internal focus-bracketing in Oly or Pana)

I just ordered a cheap canon 75-200 lens to try. It’s half the price of the raynox tube lens kit.
And this is the result of the first time ever stacking with a 4x, tube lens.
Qpecimen nog cleaned before, also need to avoid the ghosting/blurred spots. Especially arround the hairs.

Hi D.d.K,
Don’t know what you’re talking about
If your new lens, you have already ordered has an AutoFocus, so you can use the motor of the AF for the stacking. It works till 5:1 very well.
You only need the software for the steering of the motor for example Camera-Connect or Magic-Lantern (both for free).
The porting of the ML for the EOS 760D has already been started!

BTW, nice picture :-)

I used DSLR Controller for Android until I bought a Wemacro. I still use it with my 500mm mirror lenses.

Raynox 150 makes an excellent tube lens.

See http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/v ... hp?t=35350 for some discussion about how to make a tube assembly out
I see that WeMacro now sells a Raynox tube lens assembly, https://www.wemacro.com/?product=raynox ... e-lens-pro . If you already have the Raynox, you might ask if they'd make you a special deal on the tube parts.

I just bought the WeMacro tube lens assembly with the Raynox DCR-150 lens.
The setup is very stable and beautifully machined. On a quick test with the Mitutoyo 5x PlanApo there is no visible vignetting with my full frame D850.

One problem is that the Arca rail on the bottom of the assembly does not quite work with the Cognisys quick release clamp, which is a very heavy duty clamp. Placing a sheet of 28 pound typing paper between one side of the rail and the clamp takes up the slack and gives a firm attachment.

A picture of the setup is attached. The arrow points to the visible portion of the paper.

Bill,

That Wemacro lens assembly looks really nice and really like the smooth design tubes. Glad you found it has no vignetting on a full frame.

Best,
