Gear oil on the sensor

Post by Adalbert »

Hello everybody,
Does anybody know if the shutter of the camera is oiled by any lubricating oil?
I have just cleaned the sensor of my EOS M3 and noticed that there is a lot of oil on it.
Firstly I have tried to remove it with isopropanol and ethanol but without any success.
And finally I have removed the oil with the petroleum ether (benzinum medicinale).

I believe Canon use a grease on the shutter mechanism.

Probably I have touched the shutter with the cotton swab during the cleaning of the sensor :-(
