this is a stacked image using a 10x Mitutoyo objective. I used a single Godox SK300 strobe with a diffuser hood. Is the white band over the eye from too much light? also there appears to be fogginess at bottom left. Is this also from too much light? or poor flocking? thanks in advance, for constructive criticism[/img]

Hi;

I think the raeson is harsh lighting.

You should diffuze the light better.

Looks like the size (also distance) and direction of the light is causing that. Maybe you can explain a bit more about your setup, what is the hood (just the small reflector over the light with cover?), where the light is located, etc. and what you would like to get. It doesn't look that much over exposed (or maybe not at all), it's just a highlight in that area.
