I have ordered belts, pulleys, idlers, and clamps, and will try putting this to the test to see if such an inexpensive system can work for stitch movements.

JohnyM, I doubt I'll be done (or maybe not even started) before you finish yours, so please post your findings when your XYZ is done. That may influence how I proceed.
