There is a Swedish test site that have tests from the no longer published photo magazine "FOTO"and some times do new tests. They have posted MTF for some macros at 1:2. MTF 20 cycles/mm from center to corner on FF (0-21 mm) and MTF 30 cycles/mm from center to corner on APS-C (0-15 mm).
As far as I know they use testing equipment at Hasselblad and they say that the tests do not use a camera and therefore the tests can be used for comparison over a long time. The text is only in Swedish.

Good post, I had forgotten about this site.
Two strange things though, they ignore chromatic aberrations and they only show data for 20 cy/mm? Usually a manufacturer is trying to hide something when they show 10 or 20 cy/mm. When a manufacturer shares MTF for a really good lens they usually show 40-50-60 even 100 cy/mm.
Good reading anyway.

As far as I know slanted edge MTF measurement is actually an average MTF over that region. Its not a point measurement as far as I know, which isn't much about MTFelimoss wrote:Very interesting. I wonder why the MTF curves are smoothed if they are not simulated. Aren't they tested at discrete distances from the optical center? Maybe it's just a presentation thing.
That might be part of it. I guess I am to used to reading the lensrentals blog where they plot points every 2mm from the center.RobertOToole wrote: As far as I know slanted edge MTF measurement is actually an average MTF over that region. They did have an interesting macro article a couple years ago there, too
