Just as a query? is this from an insect such as a Locust.
My understanding is that this is a very good Photo of a rare subject.

What was the gear used in this Photo subject?
And how did you manage it.
i.e. technique used.
used to do astronomy.
and photography.

This photo was taken from caudal gill of damselfly larvae.
I used polarization with retarder (compensator) and dark field. It is mentioned just below the image :)

stack.

Camera aperture... ? I used Pentax K5 without the lens :)
It was stacked with Helicon Focus (older version), method A
