Very good Michael! Although we need to see the ends really or it could be a reef knot...

sailors duffle bag would never have loose ends to tie on rope as you just pull the bag open as far as loop already tied,
to close your bag you would pull the loop, then you would tie this knot to lock it tight in the loop, against the bag! try it on a loop of rope?

That's interesting, so it's tied on a bight? Not heard of that use before, nor is it mentioned in Ashley's or online: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Figure-eight_knot

I'd use a slipped overhand-on-bight in that situation.

For the last image, I'd call it a reef knot, as I used two hairs, what made the knotting somewhat simpler.
And I'd call it "Kreuzknoten" over here in Germany .
