my first fruit fly

Post by Adalbert »

Hello everyone,

I would like to show you my first fruit fly.
For the both photos: canon eos 6d, 2 seconds, 2 * 430exii, 105mm, ¼, 2’nd curtain.

The first photo: CZJ 3,2x semiplan, 90 steps,
Image
the second one: CZJ 6,3 semiplan, 80 steps.

Everything has been done manually (macro-slat).
Ok, I know insufficient steps but I’m looking for a better micrometer-screw.

What I should/could improve?

Remember you can show images to 1012 square, or 300kB :)

1024 is to suit most people's screens without having to slide around to read text.
300kB is the number we use to be enough for an artefact-free picture at that size but keep forum memory use under control. Adjust jpeg compression quality, to suit.
I use PS "Save for Web and Devices" around 7/10.

Hello Chris,
So, I have just read the guide “Image Hosting Procedures” from Twebster.
http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7
If I have understood it correctly there is a limit of 300 KB on file size and 800x800 on dimensions.
Was that “upload picture” with 800x800 only an example but the allowed size is 1024x1024 ?
This means the higher the resolution the lower the compression - quality :-(

Sorry, the screenshot images showing "800 x 800" should have been changed when the dimensions given in Posting Guidelines were changed to 1024 square. 300kB seems to be enough for quallity not to suffer visibly.

I've added a note. Thanks for the catch.
