A defensive threat posture, ready to strike ... evidently not fond of having the objective shoved a few mm from her face.
Unlike most tarantulas which may strike once and then quickly retreat, P. irminias are fairly unique in liking to strike repeatedly, in a manner similar to a cobra. :smt106

A lot of tarantula people have enjoyed that photo, being able to finally see what the spider's popular orange "Nike stripes" are actually made of. :)
