That tends to be the case with tracking starting in another country. In some cases, possibly only with Parcel Force, a UK tracking number is allocated at the Royal Mail arrival hub. It is a couple of years since I was involved with that.
The same applies with tracking in South Africa. All International Signed for, Registered, and Insured mail are given local SA tracking numbers.

What is interesting and is not well publicized, is that if a parcel is lost within the borders of South Africa, and reported to the Fraud department, and after an internal investigation, the Recipient of the parcel is paid out for the value of the item excluding postage costs. However it is lost in transit prior to reaching SA, then the sender has to fill in a claim's form and will be paid out in the parcels country of origin.

All but one of the lenses have been shipped. The last to be shipped a little later in the week.

I would appreciate it if people would let me/us know when your lenses arrive.

EDIT June 14 : My three spare lenses are now sold - all went overseas

My niece in Utah sent me four of these JML 20x lenses so I have three spare if anyone in UK or Europe would like to purchase one at cost price - see my post in 'Equipment Exchange' sub forum - priority will be given to UK members because payment and shipping within UK is easier. They work out at £30 each plus £2.50 shipping within UK and £8.54 (5 days) or £10.07(2 days) to e.g. Germany - other European destinations should be same shipping cost.

Best wishes

Since the JML's are pouring in on different member locations, it would maybe be nice to start a new thread with our combined experience with these JML's.
A lot of members have, or will have one soon, so lets post tips, tricks and results on this particular piece of glass.

I have received one of these objectives and today I have made a first image. A bit soft contrast, but maybe is not the lens, I need more tests. Good resolution and only a small purple CA, and long work distance . It seem a interesting lens for a real 20x.
Is not the best picture, but is only a test

Hi Chris,

Your box with the lenses destined for the UK went out a day later than the others. Be patient.

Mine has yet to arrive, and the USPS tracking stopped being updated on 7 June (presumably when it left the USA?). Reports of delivery on Wednesday to the Var (the next département to the Alpes Maritimes, where I live) and today to another French location, lead me to hope for early next week.

This might encourage me to finish off my macro rig, which has languished in semi-completion since I took ill last summer.

I finally got around to try it and have posted the results here

I like to invite all the owners of this lens to add their results in this post, and how it was used.
I feel I did not get the most out of it and I know there are members who could.
Advise on the use of the JML 20X and tips are welcome.
