Sunday we hosted a birthday party for my wife with about twenty dear friends for guests. I didn't want our 57 inch wall mounted Smart TV to be dark, so I loaded some JPEG data discs of computer chips and cross-polarized chemicals into the DVD player to continually run some slide shows. This was a success from the comments from our guests, but what amazed me was the quality of the images. Up until now I had only seen them on the computer monitor or as 8 1/2 x 11 prints. I was astounded by the sharpness and contrast at this larger size. As we are coming into the micrograph competition season, and assuming that judges may be viewing our images on large screens, it may be worthwhile to assess your images on flat panel TVs.
