ZS Advanced Interpolators

Post by JW »

ZS has an option for selecting advanced interpolators - Bicubic spline (4x4, default), Spline (6x6), etc. This option doesn't seem to be detailed in the on-line documentation. Hopefully Rik can provide some guidance as to when different interpolators are more preferred.

The explanation at https://photomacrography.net/forum/view ... 29#p124329 still sounds pretty good.

You're very welcome.

It may help also to read the rest of that thread. There's another post a little farther down where I illustrate the ringing effect.

I had forgotten about both of these posts (from 2013!). I found them by searching the forum for Zerene advanced interpola* .

Other possibly interesting discussions turned up in the same search, if you're inclined to read more.

Rik, yes I went through all of the message and also reviewed the material at pixinsight. Very interesting information; but at the end of the day, unless there is some compelling reason to change, the default interpolator is probably the best choice.
