If one has knowledge of 3D design, the 3D printer is a way to go crazy. Responding to the threads, in the photo that opens this thread you can see a T thread (M42x0.75) that attaches my Canon reflex to my telescope and that gives me almost the same security as a purchased part. As I am clueless, I have my office full of printed microscope objective to M42 thread couplers, I just forget where I left them, and it's easier to print than to look for them.
But the 3D printer is not a toy. Like a lathe, you need to spend time on it and learn its flaws and greatness before realizing its potential.
Of course, I offer my designs to whoever wants them. I am curious as to whether the same gcode produces acceptable results on different printers. I have tested on two 3D printers and it seems that this is so
