I've just this week returned from a weekend at Preston Montford, near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, UK. It was an excellent opportunity to meet other microscopists as well as indulge in some walking, extensive eating, and a little(!) socialising in the bar.

Thanks for the link. One of the beauties of England is the meetings and and expertise of like-minded 'natural history types'. I fondly recall AES and LNHS meetings/field trips/exhibitions in the 50's. Canada is eons behind, there is some interest in Odonates and Butterflies but Natural History clubs, at least locally, means bird watching
