I have a Mitutoyo 2X objective that I am no longer going to be using now that I have a Minolta 5400 scanner lens.
It was removed from a non-mitutoyo housing as part of a video measurement system. I cut down the housing to form the current objective barrel (plain black anodized, no lettering). I was sold this lens (along with a 5x that I'm keeping) by the original purchaser of the equipment who stated that it was used only a handful of times (below their usual magnification needs). The objective has not been disassembled further than the mostly cosmetic barrel. It appears that either Mitutoyo or the mfg of the inspection equipment dabbed a bit of glue on the lens retainer to keep the elements from loosing critical alignment. Glass appears to be near perfect. Includes an objective vial.
