WTB: High resolution test target
A high resolution test target for microscopy wanted. Preferable a Siemens Star or USAF. It needs to have features smaller than 150 nm. Must be able to work with or without a cover glass and withstand immersion oil.

Thank you. Unfortunately these are only low resolution targets. The high resolution targets are more expensive. There are at least two manufacturers that sell them. Both cost in the range of $900-$1280. They have over 3000 LP/mm as compared to the more common 200-ish LP/mm.
My hope is that someone may have a target that they no longer have any use for and may consider selling.
I have already tried the Chinese made targets from ebay. A total waste of money as they do not deliver the resolution they promise. At least I got my money back...

Have you searching for an Holographic difraction gratting? Maybe it can work. A quick search show me a 2400 lpmm

Well, yes, I concluded that was not a way forward as I wanted a long term solution that also can be benchmarked with others. I bought a resolution target from Ready Optics that has both a USAF 1951 Resolution Chart as well as an Siemens Star next to it.

Star has 40 Spoke & Space Pairs – 150 nanometer minimum feature
USAF has Group 11: Element 6 – 137 nanometer feature
This will allow me to build a library of measurements for my objectives and compare different contrast methods and immersion setups. I can also use it for finding the optimum sensor size and resolution for my different objectives.

Yes, I know. It was expensive for sure, but it will pay for it self if I can avoid buying bad optics, eg from ebay. Now I can test all objectives I buy to see if they perform optically as expected. I failed to find a used resolution target so I had to go for a brand new. I decided between the Technologie Manufactur and the Ready Optics and came to a conclusion that the one from Ready Optics was suiting my needs best. A weird thing about the Technology Manufacture target was that it has a 1 mm glass piece where the chrome layers is printed. That glass is mounted in a 1.5mm thick stainless steel slide, meaning there is a 0.5 mm air gap between the bottom of the slide and the glass resolution target. This means that oil immersion condenser will be difficult to use because of the extra gap. I am not sure how that will affect the setup in practice, but the manufacturer did not give convincing answers so I decided to go for the Ready Optics which have a slide thickness that is identical to the little glass piece.
