Rainin pipettes

Post by jnh »

Not sure, if that is of interest to anyone here, but I got a surplus set of Rainin pipettes: P20, P200, and P1000
They are clearly used, but in good working condition.
$200 should be an attractive price.

I have no need for them, but they bring back memories of grad school and time saved. Back in the 1970s, my lab started out with microcaps - little pieces of tubing that held a pre-determined amount. So if I wanted 4 ul, I'd need to use a 1ul microcap 4 times. And so on...

A year later, we got the pipetman. Must have quadrupled my productivity.

Fortunately, after finishing my degree, my career took me out of the wet lab. But fond memories of weeks of work and the short flash of excitement or disappointment at the "reveal" when I'd see the results. In case you're wondering, my PhD was in molecular virology, so the Covid thing this year was pretty close to home.
