Saltwater vs Freshwater

Hi there,
Is there more organisems in Saltwater then Freshwater ?? :shock:

Tested some freshwater today, but not much life. :cry:

I will get some Saltwater tomorrow and see :roll:

No idea of actual numbers but it would not surprise me if saltwater has about 1,000 x more species than freshwater.
But, life can be quite sparse in either. Yuo will probably have to concentrate your sample either with a Plankton Net or a Centrifuge.
Or, rather than sample the water column try collecting some of the detritus at the bottom of either habitat; I believe this is where you will find much of the microscopic life.
