Little fly with skimming light.

Post by JoblessJoe »

After 3 years 2nd post. Been in financial assistence after bankruptcy employer, so no time and/or money for hobby. Now retired and ready for a fresh start.

Found this little (3mm) fly dead on the gardentable while the sun was setting and noticed the shadow of the wing. Decided to try the same effect in home. Sheet of plain paper, little fly on its side. Lighting was just the flashlight of my phone as pointsource. Unfortunately not able to capture it complete, so decided on the full wing shadow.

Fly not cleaned or anything, just a little finger excercise.
90 x 0,025mm steps, a bit sharpened, no further editing.

I like the way the fly is contrasted against its shadow. Nice image.
