an other flower in UV

Post by Franz Neidl »

The first springflowers are coming near the house where I live. Today I photographed Ranunculus ficaria L (the english name seems to be Fig buttercup). I made a picture with normal light and one in ultraviolet light. This time I worked in RAW-format and for the ultraviolet light photo I eliminated the red colour. Red can not be seen from the bees.

Franz,
Really nice and interesting.

I wonder if this phenomenon is noticeably less before and after the most appropriate pollination times for the flower. Have you by any chance noticed this.

Dear Franz,

I was happy to see you here and registered (again).
I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in UV photography but your nice images attracted quite some attention!

I'm always happy to help others to enter this field which seem to attract now more and more people. It is not as easy as IR, but there are quite some treasures to find!

Cheers,
Klaus

Franz: I like this one better than the red tinted one.

Klaus: Can you expand on what's need to do UV photography?

...sorry for that, this site here seems to have some technical issues, and I haven't seen these entries. Just no response.

Done. That was a new record, by the way -- 13 spare copies! :)

Slow or no responses happen sometimes, usually due to server or network problems that are intermittent and beyond our control. The fact that your messages made it into the database means that they got received and handled at the server, then for whatever reason the reply to your machine did not get delivered. This also means that whatever the problem was, it was not the recent DNS problem described earlier. Most likely we will never have a clue what went wrong in your case.

When in doubt, it helps to Preview before hitting Submit. If the preview responds, it will show you whether your earlier post made it through or not.
