Synthetic quartz crystal surface detail

Post by Jbailey »

This is a close-up of one of the two fast-growing surfaces of a commercially grown quartz crystal. It was manufactured by a British company for electronic applications.

The vertical height shown is about 1.5 inches. The crystal is a tiny bit taller than that in this direction.

Light is via a spotlight from the upper rear.
