I especially like the close-ups of the barbs! My wife and I learned about these things the hard way - we found some attractive yellow "wildflowers" growing in the garden and didn't recognize them, decided to let them mature so we could grow more. Dumb idea! Yes they are sort-of attractive when flowering, but then they turn into grabby seed monsters and we had beggarticks everywhere. They like every kind of fabric, and are especially fond of socks.

Thanks for these excellent photos!
It seems odd, but I do not recall ever encountering these things in real life. Lots of other sticky seeds, but not these.
I checked with https://www.idigbio.org/portal/search , and sure enough there are Bidens species reported near everywhere I have ever lived, but ... ?
