Joro web
I had not seen a Trichonephila clavata, or "Joro" spider before this fall when one took up residence behind my house. Invasive, but apparently relatively harmless, they are in the Golden Orb weaver group and produce a striking and quite strong golden web. When the web of "my" spider began to deteriorate and appeared abandoned, I passed a roll of painter's tape through the damaged remainder to capture a few stretched fibers. Quite dirty after their prolonged outdoors existence, a great deal of Photoshop work was required to produce this image, reduced from a stack of 58.

Re: Joro web
Interesting. I would very much like to see Joro spiders. I agree they should not pose a problem.
