Lovely image!

But I'm guessing that this is a studio shot in which case it should be in the Technical and Studio forum, not Nature. If it's a dead hornet, but still undisturbed in its natural environment, then Nature is appropriate.

Can you clarify, please?

Hi, Rik. I am learning my way around this site. Yes, dead hornet photographed inside. I'll see if I can move it/delete it from its current posting. Thanx. Al.

Thanks for the clarification. You won't be able to move or delete it, but moving it is simple for any admin to do. I'll take care of it. (Edit: done!)

Bravo, nice lighting and clearly visible mouth parts. It looks very natural. As for me, the background is slightly oversaturated (slightly to left slider on the blue color in LR or PS would be enough). Then the beautiful hornet would be even more visible.
== best, Pawel

Nice. Over the past one to two weeks I have seen many of these laying on the ground. Some were still alive. Unable to fly. Struggling to walk. This always occurs in the autumn.
I'm in Canada! Isn't that weird?

I only find 'em on my gazebo screen. Where and when they go I am totally clueless. I rarely find a dead insect around here, the ants do a good job of caretaking.
