Re: Marcasite
Very nicely done! But, I don't see any marcasite. As a mineral, marcasite (iron sulfide) is notoriously unstable and prone to deep oxidation and degradation, not really suitable for wearable jewelry. How did these come about being labeled marcasite?

Re: Marcasite
'Marcasite' once referred to all iron sulfides, including pyrite. It wasn't defined as this particular one until well after jewelers had adopted the term for pyrite used in jewelry. Nowadays though it usually isn't pyrite either, it can be stainless steel or some other metallic lustered thing.

Re: Marcasite
My wife told me these were Marcasite. She had worked for a jeweler in London years ago and has an extensive jewellry collection.
