Hi Gang
Back story...
In May, I was camping at the Hoh Rain Forest on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State and
I decided to bring back a small sample of some lichen growing on the side of a tree. Lucky for me,
I brought specimen containers and placed the green lichen into one.
When I returned to Florida I decided to take a look and I noticed a small green spider that had hitched
a free ride to Florida! Since I did not want to introduce another invasive species, I let the spider live out
its life in the container.
I noticed as the spider continued to live among the dying lichen, that it had molted.
The spider is now deceased and I decided to shoot the molt as it sits within the lichen.
Here it is.
